Sunday, 29 September, 15 hrs. / Manibus et pedibus - With hands and feet- Musikalische Andacht / (solo) / A vocal journey 'with hands and feet' about pausing and running away, acting and observing, as well as persevering and holding on. With the help of songs and chants from the Middle Ages and contemporary texts and solo compositions, singer Cora Schmeiser explores the phenomenon of our extremities and their metaphorical meaning. By means of the programmatic triptych "Are we handmade?" - "What are we doing?" - "Where are we going?" Gregorian melodies will be juxtaposed with works by Giuliano Bracci (*1980), John Cage (1912-1992), Hans Arp (1886-1966), Christian Morgenstern (1871-1914), Daniil Charms (1905-1942) and Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179). In the Officium of St. Dympna van Geel she is sung as the patroness of 'people who lost their heads'. The guiding principle for the concert is Dympna's life story; her strength, her upbringing, her father's abuse, her beheading and finally her martyrdom.
