For 'Time Travel of a Trobairitz', trobairitz Cora Schmeiser travels zig-zag through past and present day Europe looking for traces of the human soul. The musical history of the Occident helps her on her pursuit. She places her sounding rod in a far corner of the Middle Ages and reposes in dark alleys and concert halls. On her quest, she stops by churches and visits royal courts. She sings about virtues and vices, praises courtly love, and pronounces eternal decline. Roaming through time, Cora leads the audience from Adam de la Halle and the Gregorian chant past Kurt Schwitters, along the notes of George Aperghis to the flood of words of Beth Anderson.
'Time travel of a trobairitz' was performed in Schuppen 1, Überseestadt, Bremen (D) (solo) / Half Juni-Gallery Sils (with Marc Lewon), Rotterdam / De Schalm, Berkel-Enschot (NL) (with Marc Lewon) / Goethe Institute, Rotterdam (solo) / Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Cologne (D) (solo) / Katholische Kirche, Sörgenloch (D) (with Lucia Mense).
